Frederic Bastiat is described as the De Tocqueville
of economic thinking. His ideas and writings resonate powerfully to this day in
economic, monetary, trade, and business circles, particularly in the United
States.
To celebrate the two hundredth anniversary of his
birth and in conjunction with the 2002 Atlanta French-Speaking World Week, a
keynote presentation followed by a roundtable debate focused on the guiding
power of Bastiat's ideas in the twenty first century will be held.
